  • Pickups with the JT590

Is the JT590 supoused to be used with standard pickups or F-spaced ones.
I'm getting a Dimarzio dp151 (paf pro) and I would like to know if this one would work allright with a 375 Dlx.

I noticed this pickups is also available F-spaced dp151f

Doesn't really matter much soundwise, but if you want the pole pieces to line up with the strings, then F-spacing is what you want (Floyd/Fender trem spacing).
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

The JT-590 is Floyd spaced, the JT-6 is standard just for the record.

Also, the Jackson pickups that were used with the JT-590 were not F-spaced for the most part.

          Thanks for the tip

Thanks, I didnt know it didnt make much of a difference if the pickup was equally spaced as the strings. Seemed kind of important jajaja

Thanks, then I´ll borrow a DP151 standard spacing

Thanks , you are really cool

Well my 92 Dinky XL had that trem and F spaced pickups. Most of the covered pickups I've had have been standard spaced.
            My 93 Charvel 375 has a JT590 with F spaced pickups a well.

The spacing really isn´t that important, no. I did some A/B-ing with both types of JB sitting in two identical Dinkys, and I honestly couldn´t tell the difference. Also, people seemed to get good tone during the eighties, when there were plenty of Floyds and no trembuckers.

I put a standard spaced SD Distortion in my Jackson Fusion XL with a JT590. Sounds fine, just looks "off".
