  • The green wire is not connected?

I just bought a squier satin. It has 2 duncan designed humbuckers.
the red and white are together on the 3 way toggle switch and the ground and black are on the back of the pot. the green is cut off. the pickups sounded really weak. Why would they not connect the green?

It's all fucked up. Green & bare should be grounded. Black is hot. Red & white should be soldered together & taped off for normal series wiring.

Yup, the black should be your HOT wire, and should go to the toggle. The green and bare wire should be grounded TOGETHER on the back of the pot. The red and white should be together, but not connected to anything, unless you have a coil tap switch.

They wired it for single coil operation. As long as the black is grounded with the bare, the green doesn't matter, as those two are interchangeable for phasing purposes.

I put in a cheap pair of dragonfire creams and it makes a world of diffrence.
