can anyone tell me what the difference is between regular frets and jumbo frets, and why one would choose one over the other??

Jumbos are wider and taller.Easier to do string bends.

Call me fett. But I beg to differ. The best guitars I have for string bending are on the regular aka standard frets on my Fenders. The big frets are for sloppy hand power cords.

Fett that depends on the radius of the fingerboard.Try bending on a 7.25 55 tele it ain't happening with out fretting out.The modern Fenders aren't as bad.
I like vintage Fenders don't get me wrong.

Exactly. I have a ton of guitars. The fret size and radius make all the difference in the world when a string bend works. I have found that small frets and a tight? radius makes bending easy. I just wonder if J/C guitars were intended for stuff like bending or flat ass power cords and fast fingers.

the reason im asking is because i bought a neck on ebay to replace my dinky reverse neck and from the pics it looks like its off of a jtx which would be the same size with jumbo frets. hoping it goes well on a dinky.

the original neck has pretty bad string grooves in the fret board, and a lot of wear throughout. i don't have the expertise to properly restore the neck but since i am restoring the body and adding all new electronics i figured a new neck would get me playing it with a lot less down time.

skinny frets = better intonation, taller frets = easier shredding

                    6105's please

Only problem is, the one you are thinking of buying might have worn frets, also.
                      My 2 cents.

i thought of that too. it was described in "new" condition. so im hoping. i may tak the reverse neck, clean it up a little and slap it onto a cheap dinky body with a floyd and setof dunkans and get rid of it.
