  • ofr locking bolts

so the only reason a ofr will not fit on my soloist is because the locking bolts are to long but other wise everything else lines up right?so can i not just go to a hardware store and buy some shorter bolts...or it's not that easy....its pissing me just siting around here doing nothing

You can buy shorter bolts and have them machined to fit - but you'd need access to a lathe/machinist. But is there a reason you must have an OFR on there? If the guitar was originally built for a Schaller, you can get a Schaller Floyd that is just as good as an OFR, and it will fit perfectly.

no ..it isn't a big deal i just figured since it was sitting around collecting dust why not try to install it but if it going to be a big deal then i prob.just leave it alone

Shorter bolts will also limit the range of movement of the saddles for intonation purposes. They're that length on an OFR for a reason. The Schaller/jt-590 is a better design in that regard, at least in my opinion.
