  • Bridge/whammy help

k, so i dont have a floyd rose, i got like the standard jackson bridge, but theres not much room for the bridge to move when i push/pull the wham, dosnt go much at all. My cousin has a strat with the same kind of bridge i think, and he raised it alot, giving the wammy a GuitarHero like use, very smooth and easy and far bends with it. Can anyone advice me on how to do something like that without fucking anything up?

A lot is a realtive term. First thing is to have the trem set up properly. You are talking about a V-trem. Right? If you are, the trem, at rest, should be about 1/8 inch or a little more off the body. Then you have to adjust the springs just right so when you tune the the guitar the bridge doesn't rise up. Did I mention the 6 screws that hold down the bridge? They have to adjusted as well. Other that that, you should be good to go.:ROTF:
I am a true ass set to this board.
