  • New Project.

    I'm thinking of making a neck, dose any have any ideas on how to do the truss rod? or have any pointers?

    Its a lot of work just buy a blank and cut your own headstock.
    I made 1 neck by hand and I won't do it again.

        I make my own single way, gibson style rods. I sleeve them in brass. I use a die to thread one end and weld an 1/8 in thick plate the the back end. You need to cut a curved slot for this type. I would advise a 2 way adj truss rod for ease of installation. They are available alot of places. Stew Mac....Warmoth....E-bay.

        www.mimf.com is also a great place to get some advice as well as a great archive of info. There are a lot of threads regarding building and installation of truss rods.
