  • Learning to Airbrush

What do you guys recommend for a newbie?
What's the best way to learn about equipment and techniques?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was actually looking at different automotive paint resources.
I'd just like to learn what type of equipment I'd need and how to learn some simple things like how to paint 3D effects, shadows, screws, rivots ... just some cool stuff I can apply to painting guitar graphics.

Do you already have a background in illustration? Do you know how to draw?

If you're serious about any sort of image making, take classes or get a degree in that area. There's far too many "airbrush" guys that know how to copy styles or emulate cheesy graphics and not enough that know the basics of drawing, image-making, and composition.

If you can draw well, the airbrush will just be another tool with a set of technical things to learn.
