  • Tubes Question

When ordering tubes they state two options ::

    Standard Test
    Balanced Triodes

What does that mean? What does it do?

Some preamp tubes, like 12ax7s consist of two triodes. Balanced just means that they are matched, like in a matched set of power tubes. For most positions in your amp, matching the two triodes really doesn't buy you anything. You may want balanced triodes for the phase inverter though
