Recommend string gauge for a DKMGT?

The DKMGT I just got is a 25.5 scale length (24 fret).

I'm used to shorter scale lengths, and normally use .010's.
I'm thinking a .009 would bring the string tension in line with what I'm used to,
right?

It seems every 25.5 I work on is too tight for me. I use standard tuning,
maybe drop D every once in a while.

I haven't strung it up yet, waiting for some opinions from the experts.

Ive been playing 9-42's basically since I started... Ive played a few shortscale guitars, and to me the string tension on them seem no different than what Im used to. Im sure youll like it.

Now installing EMG 85, WTF is an Evans pup?
There is an Evans in the bridge, and a hole to nowhere in the neck.
For now, the Evans is going into storage, in the neck slot. Unplugged.
Shredders don't have a use for neck pup.

9-42 for B?!? Jeez! They must feel like rubber bands. I can't even use 9-42 for E. 10-46 or 11-48 for me.

For standard tuning and drop D I like the EB Hybrids 9-46. About the Evans pup ... I don't have a clue, man. Thats what was in it when I got it and it worked, so I just left it alone. Going with the 85 is a good choice, though. It'll sound great in that guitar. Post some pics when she's all set up !

Seems that EMG some jackass dropped in my Model 88 has found a proper home, now both guitars have the right amount of HEAVY METAL soul.
I believe the rock gods have cast a spell on this little collection. Nice!
