  • Screw length

Hello. I just need to clarify something.
I have a model 2 body and a model 1 maple neck. I bought a japanese charvel neck plate (serial# 351425) + screws. The screws are 4cm (1.57 inches) long from top to bottom. With the neck, body, plate and gasket on it seems that the screws will only penetrate the neck by about 0.7cm (0.28 inches). This doesn't seem like much to me! Is this normal or do I have to get longer screws?

    Thanks!

(sorry no pictures, a friend has my camera at the moment)

Without having a neck to measure right now, I would say that approx. 2cm would be more like it.
But check it before you use longer screws. It would be a shame to penetrate the fingerboard.

I'm thinking the body those screws came out of had a scalloped heel area, so the body is thinner under the neck pocket = shorter screws. The screws you need are 1 3/4" long.
