  • Where to buy a JT590?

I've done a lot of researching on either replacing my rotting JT590 bridge(Kelly Custom) with another JT590 or a Original Floyd Rose.

For the sake of direct compatibility, i have elected to go with another JT590. It's a direct swap and so surprises when installing.

Is this Schaller bridge from Stewart Mac the same as the JT590?

    http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,...plete_Set.html

    How about this from Warmoth?

    http://www.warmoth.com/hardware/bridges/bridges.cfm?fuseaction=bridges_floyd_schaller

The string spread from Warmoth is 2-3/32" (53mm) while the string spread of the bridge from Stewart Mac is 2-1/8" (53.97mm).

So which one is or closest to the JT590?

Also, am i correct in assuming that if i go with an OFR, i should have no issues since i don't have a recessed setup, i use standard tuning & 9-42 guage strings?

    Thanks for reading.

Yes, the Schaller is what you want. The JT590 is a Schaller with the Jackson logo.

If going with the OFR, you could end up with intonation problems but it could also work for you. It's hit and miss. Click the link for more info.

Get a Floyd and be done with it. I've replaced two 590's with OFR and never had any problems.

            I'm getting lazy, that's all. It's not a shameless plug. I swear
