I wanted to check this out also. Gibson closed it's doors tell 5:00 and I wasn't interested enough to stick around for it. Feets were getting tired.

Check out this thread from LPF...

      http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=140449

It shows a few and they might talk about them in the posts. I dig the Silverburst with the Floyd. I wonder if they had a few left over Schon bodies lying around for these...

Some cool stuff there like the carved top SG. Some fugly stuff too, reverse Explorer? Yuck...

But at least those Gibson fanboys jumped through all the hoops that Gibson has to get pics...

Knobs aren't moved around like on the Schon model, they're still in the standard inconvenient LP configuration. The Floyd isn't recessed, there's no under-routing. But they likely didn't adjust the pitch of the neck joint and it may not be hard butted down. It's also got the same appointments as the LPC and LPS, so it's probably priced similarly. That is to say, overpriced.

Looking like I'm getting a Carvin CS6, after all.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

There's no need to adjust the pitch of the neck with a non-recessed Floyd on an LP.

Well my interest just went bye bye.... I have no intention of buying a guitar that I am going to have to send back a bunch of times for them to get right.

Doesn't look like Gibson can setup a guitar correctly either or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

                    Just one more guitar!

Scotty, looks like the silverbust is in a happy-face config.
                      That must have sounded awful.

Hmmm...19 years later and Gibson is adding a floyd again. Here's my 1989 Floyded LP from the factory (they only made these for one year and didn't make many. Check out the Gibson logo on the floyd):

                          md,
Nice Gibson. I use to have a mid 80's Custom that had a strange kinda Kahler on it. It was decent but before I really knew what I was doing set-up wise so I sold it...

I wonder why they are doing this now? Is there a large contingent out there that's saying, "Damn, I'd be all over that Les Paul if it only had a Floyd!"? I doubt it. Those didn't sell in the 80's, what makes them think they will sell today? Floyds RULED the 80's, not so much now...

                          A bit of a headscratcher...

Nice one Mountaindog. Yea I dunno why they made these with floyds. Very odd but I dig it. And those Floyds look slanted to me too! I think it just looks slanted because of the reflection on the edges of the Floyds. They are top mounted I believe with no routing under it.
