  • So how do i find out (early) who's going to be where?

At the different booths? Fender doesnt have anything on Namm that
i could find? I was wondering if EVH is going to make an appearance
on Sat? So far, all we know is WD. being at the Charvel booth 3pm
on Friday, and then at Seymore Duncan on Sat... anyone got any dirt
on whether or not Vai, Satch, EJ, etc...will show? Oh well...i guess
    surprise is a good thing!

I think Ed is on tour right now. Don't know if he is available. Guess you just have to hang out the entire time with me and drink to find out who will be there.

Found this.. thought it might be helpful.. I'm gonna print it out and bring it with..THIS is only a partial listing.. and I was told that VH may have some off days.. and EVH usually does raise his head at Namm..
      2008 Winter NAMM Show Events
The 2008 Winter NAMM Show will be taking place from Jan 17th through Jan 20th in Anaheim CA. The NAMM show is an industry-only music products trade show that is not open to the general public. I'll be attending the show this year courtesy of Modern Guitars Magazine.

Here is a list of "NAMM Happenings" that NAMM attendees, and readers of The Guitar Channel, may be interested in. I hope the list below isn't too hard to decipher. Here is how it is broken down: Each day below has a list of show floor appearances, and gigs that are occurring around town. The show floor appearances are usually autograph signings unless otherwise noted. If no time is listed next to a show floor appearance, it either means I have no info on the time, or that person will be at the booth throughout the entire day. Most but not all of the gigs listed are open to the general public; I'd suggest calling ahead for anything you plan on attending to verify if it's for NAMM attendees only. I will add other events of interest as I become aware of them (up until Wed Jan 16th at least). NOTE: Prashant Aswani and Ed DeGenaro will be appearing every day at their respective booths, and will be playing to some extent or another from what I understand.

Backpacks are a-ok, so are cameras and video cams. I recommend black tip sharpies and a couple pickguards as well (if you're an autograph hound - like 'em better than the stock photos). Be prepared to open the backpack on a regular basis - a big hassle, but better than carrying schwag in your hands. FWIW, Thursday is schwag day - most booths run out by Friday...

As for "no-no's", stay cool lest the dude that got you your pass losses his NAMM membership. I got into it with a tweaker and his tweaker girlfriend at a snack bar last year over chairs and a table and just about pounded the shit out of him. I was too amped to get his badge info, but I certainly would have made a point of having him and his sponsor run from NAMM if I was thinking. We don't need that at our show, and most people are on good behavior, so have fun...and stay away from the freaks! :ROTF:

Most Artist's webpage or Myspace will have their schedule listed, if they are going to be there.

Jeff Loomis will be doing demos and signings on Friday and Saturday at the Schecter booth. They sent out a big pdf image of the times and others that will be at their booth. If anyone wants to see I will post it.
