    a 3/4 scale to intonate.. The 3/4 is standard tuning correct?

    Assuming you mean 24.75" scale, then yes, standard tuning should be fine.

      What brand of guitar is it. My bass player bought a bass that would not intonate at all.

        It's one of those SX.. I picked it up for my youngest son. For X-mas... I was trying to set it up for him.

          you have to stretch your strings for a good 15min straight or more, just stretching and retuning, before you set the intonation or you will have the problems that you're having now.

          but what scotty said is true, some instruments are just F'd up and will not intonate, but most of them will.

          remember that your intonation will change if you put a different brand or guage string on the next time you restring. even different brands of the same size string intonate a little differently becuase each brand's string uses a slightly different tension at correct pitch.

            If it is one of those kid sized guitars, try tuning it in G. That is what my brother had to do for the little Samick guitar I bought my niece.

              The strings are definately stretch out.. I bent the hell out of the strings before I tried and intonate. ..
