• Alexi Laiho Scales?

What scales does he use? I really like the sound they give and I want to learn them.
I'm only really familiar with the Natural minor and pentatonic scales.

try the ionian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, and locrian.

that should keep you busy for a while.

Thanks but I already know all of those. Are those what he use? I thought he used more exotic scales...

most of his scales are just natural minor.. sometimes he'll sharp the 7th (harmonic minor).. but most of his solo's are natural minor scales with natural minor sweeps.

Ok I see now. Cuz from what I've seen most of them looked like natural minor but there were some "odd" notes. I guess I know what that is now. Thanks

ok ok...

Harmonic Minor. you'll love it. It's the aeolian with a raised 7th...

like VitaminG said. aeolian=natural minor
