  • My Strat with Evans pups

I bought this loaded board a few years ago. Evans pickups are supposed to very good. Now that I have my "Shop" I'm going to give it a go. The pups are 2 Hot Rythums and an Eliminator 1. You have to bear with me here, I have never attempted this.

Don't let decals on the headstock fool you. It did me. But it's all Fender. The pickguard lines up really well. One loose wire to the 5-way; a new jack and a ground wire to the bridge. So, tomorrow I solder and burn up my Summer Home.:ROTF: These are really old Evans. God. I hope they work. The reason I posted is to come for "Help".:ROTF:

Well, I got it all installed. The pups work. The pots work. The 5-way works. So does hum I can't track down. I'll do my mandatory Ron "Search" before I come running back.

Yeah. That was what I was thinking. I'll redo the trem ground tomorrow. God, I hope that works. This is a bit too much for me if that ain't it.

I have to get back at it. The problem is that I really don't know what I am doing when it comes down to tracing the source of the problem.

                          Shield mod it.

Here is a shield mod for the Strat.. http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/shielding/shield3.php

All my strats have this mod along with my tele's.

Make sure you don't have your Positive wire and Ground wire on your output jack bass ackwards. If you plug it in wired backwards you will get a hum/crackling.

I'm a frigging genius. Guess who had the wires crossed at the jack?:ROTF: I did it right this time and they sound great using the electric razor sound check. I told you I was new at this. Go Jet.
