  • 6 string dilema

    greetings,
so i decided to purchase a 6 string bass the other day....and thought....
is it possible to tune into standard guitar tuning?

will any tweaks or modifications be needed?
what about diffrent strings than these stock ones?
just popped one right now trying to tune it.....

    thanks in advanced

    A six-string bass is tuned, from low to high, B – E – A – D – G – C.

Here's a guide for bass tuning.

I suppose you could tune it to guitar standard, but you'd need to use light gauge strings or you'll break things.

        It won't intonate!
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

:ROTF: :ROTF: Your not kidding. I bought one without knowing anything about them. Luckily it was a cheapy because I had the neck pulled up and the strings breaking all over the place. I thought I was tuning a 6 string guitar!

or you could get a guitar and an octave down effect
