  • Quarter Sawn Maple Neck

I’m thinking of ordering a one piece quarter sawn maple neck (with shunk stripe/Charvel headstock/oiled finish/dual acting truss rod) from Musikraft. Tonally I know it will be a touch brighter than a flat sawn neck, but are there any cons to this design that I should “mull” over prior to ordering?

FYI: It will be bolted to a Northern Ash body with a brass V-trem.

    Thanks Vince

the tone isnt that much difference. IMO the type of truss rod makes more of a difference than the way the maple is used. the only thing with quarter sawns is if they do warp they warp sideways & its garbage. flat sawns will either bow ir twist which can sometimes be corrected if not bad. ide go quarter sawn ive found it to be more stable.

Just curious, does Musikraft have warranty coverage for necks that warp over time?
