• Removing acrylic paint from clearcoat?

Ok, so I had to prove to myself again that I cannot paint with a brush
Anyhoo, I was using Testors acrylic paint, and I did manage to scrape most of it off without damaging the finish, but that was shortly after having applied the paint. I left some on the guitar for a few days and now it's not coming off so easy. I'd rather not break out the sander, and I don't have a powered paint remover or chemical stripping agents.
Can it be heated with a hair dryer and softened with a moist cloth to get it back to a malleable state?

You mean I'm so cutting-edge that I'm the only one to think of painting over an existing clearcoat with acrylic paint? Or am I the only one to screw it up and need to remove it?

If the stock paint is poly, you can use acetone to clean it off. Just use it on a rag and rub it off rather than soak the body in acetone.
