Did you put in a neck hotrails or a bridge hotrails in the neck?

If you did use the correct Hot Rails neck version (not bridge verrsion) and sounds too muddy (is this what you meant by chocking?), try something with a more scooped response, such as Seymour Duncan Cool Rails, Vintage Rails, Lil Screamin Demon, Duckbucker, JB Jr., Dimarzio Fast Track 1 (DP181), YJM, or HS3. YJM or HS3 are a little lower in output but sound pretty clear IMHO.

                I put a ProTrack on my SL11.
IMHO, the YJM or HS3 output will be too low (73mV) and it won't sound like on the strat because of the neck length :24 frets, so the pickup is closer to the bridge.
