Yupppp. . .all you guys are correct. I pulled the Jackson catalog and posted this for you. So its 12 at the nut (rounder) and gets flatter the higher you go.

Yes, Jackson does now use the 12-16 radius.
But here's a trivia question (and no, I don't have the answer!)- when did they start doing this? I believe that they used a straight 16 radius for quite a while.
Any thoughts?Comment

No Jackson (ponties) has always used a compound radius. Some have been 12 to 14 and 14 to 16.Comment

I always thought so too, but many of the old sales flyers just say 16". Here's the '84 Charvel and Jackson pricelists. Both say 16" at the nut.

That was my recollection as well, but I wasn't positive. Catalogs/price sheets are probably the best way to figure this out, but I'm still wondering when they made the switch to a compound radius...Originally posted by dg View PostComment

I can't read the 92 catalog so I don't know about that year but the first year that I see it mentioned is 93. Doesn't say what it was though. The original strat heads were 11" in 81.Comment

The earliest mention I've seen is in this '88 import Charvel flyer, but I think they were using a compound radius at least as early as '86.
