  • Fralins vs Armstrongs vs Duncans

I can't tell you anything about the Armstrongs but I'll tell you that I really like Fralins. I've got several of his pickups in two of my guitars. Lindy Fralin really doesn't do mega-distortion-type pickups like DiMarzio or Duncan. But that said, he is a custom builder, so you might give him a call. I know that when I wanted replacements for my Valley Arts, I sort of wanted a warmer, old Van Halen sort of tone and he wound a humbucker for me. I can't say that I really get a VH tone out of that guitar, but I don't think you can blame the pickup. Fralins vs Armstrongs vs Duncans

Have heard some good things about Fralins and Kent Armstrong p/u's, but never had the chance to try them. Anyone know how these compare to Duncans or Dimarzios in sound & price. I am looking for something similiar to a Dncan JB or 59 to drop in the bridge of a Strat.
