  • Floyd Rose compatible?

    Hi
    Quick question
Will an OFR tremolo system fit in a jackson JS1 so that the tremolo can be pulled up and pushed down without requiring any woodrouting?

    Short answer... no.

I'm not positive about the JS but mosy VTrem style guitar the post sit a 1/4" farther back than they do on floyd. You may have to rout the trem hole for the sustain block slightly larger closer to the post holes so the sustaing block on a floyd will fit properly. As per your question if you shim the neck you can mount the floyd above the body and have room to pull the trem sharp.

Plus, why would you want to put a $179 trem on a $99 guitar?

Hmm, that's a good question, RJ!

lol damn it, what a bother!

Well it's a quality tremolo system. I can put it on whatever guitar I like, u no? And i really like the js1 body so i've decided to modify pretty much everything else (seeing as everything which came with it was factory standard = shit!)

THis is correct. Post spacing, mounting distance and trem rout are all incorrect for a floyd, ergo all must be modified.
