Re: Motherbuckers?

Probably near a Duncan Distortion or DiMarzio SuperD - the old Mighty Mite Motherbucker was a 3-coil jobber found in old Hamer Phantoms

      Re: Motherbuckers?

I just bought a Cort Katana with these installed from the factory and played it at a gig last Friday. Coincidently, I also brought my Hill that had a Duncan Distortion in the bridge.

I thought the bridge Motherbucker sounded great, more bottom than the duncan distortion. Id kinda sum it up as like a duncan JB but with more gain.

I prefer a single coil in the neck position so I wired up the neck motherbucker with the coil tap, and it sounded good in that mode, with a full rich singlish tone.

I used to have a guitar with the triple-coil motherbuckers. IT sounded great and used to absolutely pummel the input of my old Fender Twin . The downside of course was that you had to rout the guitar out for the special pickups which was an all or nothing proposition.
