    Would using gold pickup covers mess up EMGS sound? weird feed back?

    I don't know why you'd want to put extra covers over EMGs. Would they even fit? I'm sure it would affect the sound somehow, anyway.

      If you grounded the "gold" cover you would create a Faraday cage, like a Gibson pickup has. If you used soild gold that would work best, since it's so conductive. Of course it would be about $1800 for the materials alone. Of course EMGS don't have exposed grounds, so you would have to wire the ground in somehow. It may make it darker sounding if you did it that way. Of course if you just put a cover on it without grounding it, like i suspect you plan on doing, it shouldn't have much effect on the sound at all.

        You could probably get EMG to customize a set of pickups with gold covers. They have already released their limited edition chrome covered units. The EMG single coils with exposed poles (EMG SV) might look cool with a gold cover, although the poles themselves are chrome color.
