  • Jsx -94 Concept Trem tuning screws

I bought a Jsx-94 in a pawn shop that as far as I know has the original Floyd patent tremolo and the fine tuning screws seem to be somewhat stripped out due to wear and tear. If the strings are flat and I tune up (tighten), it tunes fine, but if I have to tune the string down some, the screws just loosen up and just "spin". I constantly have to unlock the nut and tune with the keys. Would replacing the tuning screws fix the problem or should I just replace the whole thing? I'm trying to save a little $$$.

    Thanks

If it is just the fine tuners, you should be able to replace them easily-most of the major parts vendors have them, like stew mac. If you are lucky, they will just come right out, if not you may have to take the bridge off, flip it over and grind down the bottoms a bit. If it is the plate that is stripped, that is a whole different story.
