  • tung-oil and poly paint, which order?

im about to finish up the bass, but i wanted to do and oiled neck, painted headstock and body combo. Should i oil the neck first, mask it up and then paint Or should i, mask up, paint, remove the tape and then oil up.

while i am at it, should i put sealer on the neck as well?

To me it makes sense to mask, paint, then oil the neck....get the paint on there to seal that wood, then oil the neck and you won't have to worry about masking anything if the oil gets on the clear. I don't think you would need sealer on an oiled neck

well when i thought about it i though of the build up on the masking line, and it would be a good transition.
