  • jackson and 0.10 - 0.52 gauge strings

    hi,
does anyone here play a jackson with 0.10 - 0.52 strings tuned to standard E?

If yes, please could you post measuraments of your action at 12th fret ?

    thanks

Each guitar is different so there is no magic correct number or measurement.
Just set it up and get the action where it feels best to you.
I have done one this way and set the 8th fret at .010 (.254mm)this was the point where the E string did not rattle on the frets any lower it rattled.
This was a new guitar at the time and there has been tons of fretwear since. The last time I set this one up I was able to get it a bit lower

I use DR Tite Fitt 11-50 Strings in standart E on a RR3...
My action on the 12th fret is 1,9mm...
        And I got NO buzz

do you have a Floyd Rose tremolo?
How does it work with those thick strings?

it is an RR3, of course it has a floyd, it works semi-decent, i think there is to much tension on it personally.

It works perfect, you just have to set it up properly...
