  • Help me make a screamer Fat Strat

So I picked up a cheapo Mexican Fat Strat at the Pawn Shop today. Not squire though. At any rate paid 150 for it and its minty I wanna make this thing scream. Give me some pickup suggestions for some killer low end with a decent high.

Shes black and will get most pro a black pearloid guard.

So I need a good HSS pickup combo let me know what ya think!

DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge, DiMArzio Fast Track in the neck and middle would probably scream.

First off order an rsguitarworks pot upgrade kit then get a WCR ironman humbucker for the bridge and two Dimarzio SDS-1s for the neck and middle.
        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I have a MIM Strat that's Lake Placid Blue with a Maple board. I put on a white pearl pickguard with just a humbucker cutout and 1 vol hole on it. I put in an EMG 81, and it's awesome! I still have the original pickguard w/ the pickups & electronics. I don't know if I'll ever put it back!!

I'd also go with that. DiMarzio's rail design has a much more "hi-fi" sound than Duncan's. And the Super Distortion is one tough pickup to top.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

I'm shocked at the number of people suggesting the SDS-1s.Most people I run into hate the SDS-1s I think they kick ass.
