    Last time I was asking about the EMG HZ pickups. Now I would like to know about the Seymour Duncan JB pickup. What's the best combination of wood and the pickup ect... Help [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

      I like the JB in most anything, although it goes really well with Alder. You have to be careful, though, because some of them sound better than others. The OEM JBs in Jacksons are hotter, it seems to me. Don't ask me why. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

      I have heard from some people that Seymour has been having some quality control issues of late. I know the JB7 in my Soloist 7 sounds great, but it's by far the newest one I have - I think my next newest is from 1996!

        The only guitar I've had with a JB (it didn't have a logo on it either) has been my '95 Hamer Special FM. It sounded sweet in the treble and high mids, but it was lacking a little low end, even in the Hamer's mahogany body/neck. It's got EMG 81s in it now and it sounds even better.
