  • JS30RR body, Neck help

I just picked up a JS30RR guitar body, I plan on refinishing the body etc.. but that's another story. If I manage to fit an Ibanez Wizard II neck on the guitar body, will it work fine? I know the neck has got to be 24 frets, and I can't find a single 24 fret Jackson neck that doesn't have a locking nut. I love Ibanez necks, so I was wondering if I could fit one on with no problem (Besides the holes for bolting it on..)

I don't think it'll work without some modifications.
If I remember correctly, the heel on the Ibanez is a different shape than the neck pocket of your Jackson body.

it is impossible, but it is not practical. you would need to get your hands on a wizard neck. so you can start figuring out what type of work load your going to have.

also, just because it has a locking nut routing does mean you can't place a regular nut on it. although it won't look very pretty. but it will still do the job.

Hmm, Trying to reshape the heal on the neck might be too much work for me. I'd feel really weird and cruddy if I had a guitar with the locking nut shit and no floyd. I guess I'll just keep my eyes peeled for a 24 fret neck for a string-thru.

Thanks for all the info dudes!

There was a Guitar Center edition DKMGT that has a bolt-on neck with fins, binding, and an SLS-style headstock. It was a non-locking model.

You might be able to score one cheap enough on Ebay and take the neck from it, since no one likes the SLS head (except me )

Oh mannn, are you kidding me? I LOVE the SLS headstocks, I think it would look even sweeter with the body I'll pair it with. I'll look into that, thanks

this mod could require a great deal of work. it may not be for the average
joe. having 24 frets does not mean anything. you will have to check scale length. and see where the heel ends up
not to mention pickup location at the neck position if it has one
                many variables to consider
