  • Are TP6 fine-tuning tailpieces universal?

Just wondering about the Gibson-type TP6 tailpiece. Is it universal for all TOM/stoptail guitars, or are there different sizes out there? Found a Schaller version at Stew-Mac. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,...Tailpiece.html

Are you talking about width wise? Meaning the spacing of the studs? I do know that the TP6 is very thick, and it requires a special stud, it won't mount on 'standard' tunomatic studs. As far as the width is concerned, I believe that it is standard, for a Gibson width, and interchangeable with a regular tailpiece.

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, I did mean width wise. I see that it comes with its own studs. So the bottom of the studs will just pop in, in place of the old studs that are already on my guitars now? I'm thinking of putting them on my Carvin SC90, Hamer Special and Jackson JJP.
