  • Morley Wah pedal question...

    Hi

I got a Morley Bad Horsie MK1 wah pedal and love it.

I was reading through Morley's website and they have this BASS wah pedal (it's blue, I can't remember the model name). Thing is that they say it sounds GREAT with detuned guitars as well (I tune down to B standard).

I wanted to know if anybody has ever played a guitar through one of these and if they're that great for guitar. In my case the low notes on the Bad Horsie tend to sound all the same, only the higher ones sound great.

    Let me kno

    Hey LEOKV2,
I have "horsed' around (pun intended) with a bass wah with my 7 string, and what you have read is correct. The bass wah is designed to be more effective in the lower frequencies that are found in bass's and detuned instruments. However, with my experience, I noticed that it is a tradeoff .. you get more effect on the low end, and not as much on the treble frequencies. My advice would be to head down to the local music store (with guitar in hand if need be) and plug a bass wah in and see if it tickels your fancy.

    Best of luck

i wonder if you can run two different wahs at a time.......... best of both worlds
"slappy, slappy" bill sings, happily, as he dick slaps random people on the streets of Cleveland.

Hey Kelly user ... not that one is a bass wah and one a guitar wah, I do run a Bad Horsie II AND a Dunlop Crybaby Classic (with fasel) on my pedalboard at the same time

LEOKV2, the times I have played with a bass wah, the tradeoff was fairly noticeable especially when you are blowing off a lead, way up register on the fretboard ... it is just something you may have to listen to ...

On the other hand, as well, you could talk to some people that do wah mod's (which are normally not too expensive) and see if something can be done to make a wah fill the bill that you are looking for .....
