• Floyd locking nut question

I have a Warmoth neck that has a locking nut that mounts through the rear of the neck. The neck is 1 11\16. I need to replace the locking nut and, in looking at various units on the internet, it appears as though the holes in the nut that attach it to the neck are located in two different places. What I mean is, theres five holes in the nut itself. Three for the string clamps and two that accept the screw from the rear of the neck. It looks as though some of the mounting holes in the nut are towards the top of the nut and some towards the bottom. Is this the case or are my eyes just deceiving me? Any help is greatly appreciated.

A modern R3 or R4 nut (both will fit your guitar, the R4 has a slightly wider string spacing if you like that, I prefer R3) will allow them to be rear or front mounted. You can use the screws thru the neck, or the top mounted ones
