  • OFR string lock screws are too long.

Tried searching the forum and surprisingly found nothing...

Just purchased a Charvel Fusion Deluxe, upgraded with an OFR. Problem is that the standard 44mm string lock screws are too long. When I pull up on the trem, the screws contact the body instead of staying inside the recess like a JT580 would.

String lock screws from a JT580/JT590 are a good length, but the width of the screw doesn't fit inside the narrower slots of the OFR.

Does anyone know where I can get slightly shorter string lock screws for an Original Floyd Rose?

THink I read that screws from a Floyd Rose II would work, but these are discontinued AFAIK.

That rout is for a Schaller trem, not an OFR... thats your problem. You can machine the screws down, but other than that there isnt much else that you can do.
Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...

Well, there is 1 thing. You can put a Schaller Floyd back on it...

FR II or Schaller screws are too big/thick. They will not fit an OFR.
Get a Schaller and all will be good in the trem world.

The Schaller string lock bolts are to thick for the OFR base plate.

The saddles are fine. The screws would be too short, though.

Schaller it is! I just happened to have one. Back to eBay with the OFR I guess.
