  • Which is hotter: J90C or Duncan Designed HB102N?

Sorry to start another thread about this same topic, but I'm confused. I see a lot of people talking about how HOT the J90C is, while others say it's weak. I noticed that the HB102B in the bridge of my DX10 is hotter than the J90C in the Model 2. BUT.... is the neck pickup (HB102N) also hotter? I'm thinking of swapping the neck pickup from the Dx10 into the bridge of the Model 2.

So which is hotter? J90C or HB102N?

    Thanks!

typically in matched sets of HB's, the neck pickup is a bit lower output, since its overall volume would be greater in the neck position (sensing a wider portion or vibration of the string). I wouldn't concern yourself too much about the "hotness" of the pickup, judge them more by the tone. most modern amps or effects are capable of more than enough gain to make up for slightly "weaker" pickups. I have a Screamin' Demon (a medium output pup) in my model 4 and it is comparable to the Super 3 (hotter pup) in my HM. THe type of guitar it is in makes a big difference too.
