Can somebody tell me about this bass?

Hi,
I'm new to this forum but I'm a bunch of others. I figured this would be the place to ask this kind of question.

Can somebody tell me about this bass? What year is it? Is it American? What model? What's it worth? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let me give a brief description: The person is the store said it was a 3B neck through, but didn't know anything else. It's not a bolt on.

1988 Model 3B made in Japan - $300 is a good price and about what they go for depending on who's buying.
