  • Need hardware help!

Ok, the Jackson MM1 comes with this bridge:

    http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,..._Bushings.html

It has large bushings and big posts.

I just bought one of these to replace it:

    http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,...e-o-matic.html

which has small bushings and posts.

Someone (I thought Stewmac) used to carry some sort of conversion posts that had bigger threads that would fit in the larger inserts and the smaller posts for newer bridges, but after searching all over Stewmac and Warmoth, I can't find them.

Anyone know where to score them?

So your saying the inserts aren't the same size? I would just pop em out and switch them.

The inserts mounted in the body that the bridge posts screw into are fatter than the LR Baggs posts and inserts.

          They cannot be swapped directly.

Stewmac or Warmoth (pretty sure it was Stewmac) had conversion posts at one time that had the fatter (import syle) threads for the fatter body inserts and skinny (USA style) bridge posts for the bridges with smaller mounting holes.

That's what I'm looking for but neither site mentions them.

Got an email back from StewMac - they don't carry the conversion posts anymore.

Looks like I'll have to get some generics and take them to work to grind them down.

Can't wait for the day when everyone agrees on a standard for guitar hardware and I don't have to put up with this crap.
The sad part is Gotoh actually makes the same bridge in a small-post model so you can swap it out for a better one with no trouble, and it costs the same as the big-post model.
