  • Sharing my Baby - 1987 King V Bass

This is my baby - I am the original owner, purchased in St. Charles, Missouri at The St. Charles Guitar Exchange. Never played anything that can touch it's tone, playability, or of course look!!!

Wow, killer! I've seen a couple Rhoads basses, but can't recall ever seeing a King V. Welcome to the forum

+1. I've always thought the Rhoads basses looked kind of hinky, but that KV is just awesome.

btw Joe, weren't we discussing how the singer in some emo band was seen playing a silverburst KV bass a while back? You may not have been in on the convo, but I'm sure it came up here

Yeah, I think I remember it coming up. I don't think I was involved in it, but I seem to remember someone thought it was a KV and it wound up being a Gibson, maybe?

We were talking about a Jackson bass, and then someone posted a pic from the same band's website of what looked like a Gibson V. Clearly different instruments though - the Gibby has a pickguard....

Wow! That's the coolest bass I've ever seen! Congrats!

IIRC I've seen at least 1-2 other KV basses. One had a skull graphic I think. Rob L owned them?

That is amazing. I second the "coolest bass ever" statement.

                              To the tekkies out there

The SN# of my bass is J339. I am a player, not a technical guy and would appreciate any and all information I can get about this bass. I believe it was made in Ontario and it is truly the greatest instrument I have ever played. Everything on it is still factory.

                              Here's another picture.
