  • painting a guitar

One of my guitars has been completely stripped of its finish. It is down to the bare wood, which is a nice mahogany, but with plenty of dents and scratches, etc. I work with a guy who just graduated as an art major (painting) and I was thinking of having him do a graphic for me. Here is my question: what is the best way to prime a guitar for a graphic? Also, what are the better paints and coats to use for such a project?

hey Travis, although I have yet to do a graphic I have refinished a few using reranch products. Check em out at http://www.reranch.com/ even if you don't use their stuff read the reranch 101 sections...that should answer your questions.
