  • Pickup Wiring Help - 2 Issues

Geeze Gents, I feel like a total slug for even asking this. As many f'ing pups as I've yanked and replaced you'd figure I'd know something by now. Truth is I am on strong post operatrive meds and I keep having bouts of CRS disease (Can't Remember Shit). Also known as long bouts with brain farts (or brain fade). And, well, I can't remember how to wire a 3 way slider. Haven't done one in God knows when. Always pulled them to slap a 5 way in whenever possible. SD site only has the toggle in my case.

    1) I have the stock DK2M switch and also have an AllParts switch. Can someone, anyone, please please please lay either or both out for me by the schematics on this link. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...v_1t_3way.html

    2) I noticed on all wiring diagrams from Fender and on here that the AllParts blades/spades (parts that you solder the wires to) are different - Like a mirror image of all others. You see 4 blades a side, highest one to the top left (as you view the schematic) lowest on the bottom right. AllParts is exactly opposite. And it's messing with my already damaged thought processes.

    ......... Dain Brammage?

Here's a pic of wiring the type with 4 blades per side:

On page 11 of this link is wiring the type with 8 blades in a row:

Thanks a million for the great links MountainDog! I had a moment of lost in space there. More like lost in oblivion. I had the wiring down w/everything except the friggin switch. Just could remember how.

I did figure it out the hard way...... mirroring the switch's blades for a Standard Tele hookup. But Also used the 4 blade jumper from the active pups hots to have both pups work on middle position... just like the static.zoovy link you provided. The bridge pu was so much more powerful than the neck that the sound wasn't much different than the bridge only.... So I yanked the jumpers. Here's what I ended up with (just the switch, mirrored blades). http://www.seymourduncan.com/support.../std_tele.html

Thanks again for taking the time and trouble to provide those links. I bookmarked them in case I have another brain fart.
