• What are these DiMarzio color codes?

In DiMarzio color codes, what should these be?

2 humbuckers / 5-way Schaller

Point # Wire assignment
1 empty
2 neck pickup hot wire
3 output to volume pot
4 ground to volume pot
5 neck pickup coil tap
6 bridge pickup coil tap
7 bridge pickup hot wire

I assumed that the coil taps are red and the hot wires are black and white, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Jeez. Anybody know?

I don't know diddley about wiring but I had an Ibanez question and figured you would know! I have an 87' Rg 550 with F serial number. I just picked up an Rg750 with a USA plate with the serial on the plate. Is it really made in USA? I haven't seen as many of those compared to the F serial guitars. Were there fewer produced? I got it at GC and they were only asking 250.00 which was already a good deal then I talked him down to 200.00 and he covered a little of the tax! 210.00 out the door for an 88' 750 in 8.5 condition! Just couldn't say no to that.

Despite the RG750's neck plate, they were NOT made in the USA.
The only difference in that and the RG550 is the neck itself, which has sharkfins instead of dots.
Yes, there are fewer of those than the RG550s.
Out of the RG750/RG760/RG770 models, the RG750 is the one that's a little more rare.

Hope that helps a bit.

lets try it this way.

1 empty
2 neck pickup hot wire (neck red wire)
3 output to volume pot
4 ground to volume pot ( bridge pup red wire)
5 neck pickup coil tap (neck black and white wires)
6 bridge pickup coil tap (bridge black and white)
7 bridge pickup hot wire (bridge red wire)
Hopefully that makes a little more sense for ya.
