• Pickup wiring question

I have a guitar inwhich the neck HB pickup died. So I bought a new one and basically re-wired it the same way as the old one. Now, when my pickup switch in the bridge position-- I get great sound. When the switch is in the neck position -- again everything sounds ok. However, when I put the switch in the middle position, I loose almost all of my output and only get this tinny low-output sound. Before I go messing around any further I thought I'd ask to see if I did some 'newbe' oopsee. Is my problem something that is typical and easy to fix? Do I need to get a new 3-way toggle? Or should I sell the guitar on e-bay as a 'vintage' guitar with unique tone quality

    thanks,

    joe...

    Re: Pickup wiring question

switch the hot and ground on ONE of the pickups. The problem is they are wired out of phase, or opposite to each other, so the combination is giving you the DIFFERENCE between the two pickups, hence the thin sound.
