where to put a compressor in the chain?

whre should a compressor go in my chain in front of my amp
guitar-> boost-> comp
or
guitar -> comp -> boost
and Wah always goes first? (closest to guitar?)

Ok, seriouly.

Yeah put the Compressor first if you're using it for Compression. If you're using it for a Peak Limiter, put it last.

Compression makes quiet stuff louder and loud stuff quieter. Peak Limiting keeps everything under a given dB value, but doesn't make anything louder.

When I try to record my palm mutes get boomy sometimes and the signal overloads so Ii'm going to ssue it as a peak limiter so last it is .
