Is there a stamp or decal of any kind on the underside, most likely prefaced with "DP"?

So are those readings from single coils or the two coils of a humbucker? You can cruise over to DiMarzio's website (if you haven't already) and do it the long way...read the specs one by one.

one of them is a hum, the other one is a hum, but is two single coils together so you can set it up as a single or double

Maybe email pics and the readings to DiMarzio and they could help you. www.dimarzio.com

The first pickup is probably a PAF (DP103). The second pickup can not be positively identified, but it may be a Humbucker From Hell (DP156).

                  this was the reply.

                  decent pickups?

Well, you said both pups were from the '80s... I think the HFH came out around the mid '90s, if I remember correctly. It's supposed to be a brighter pickup that is close to a single coil sound, a lot of people use it in the neck. The PAF is supposed to be more of an old-school type pup that's close in sound to the old 1950's humbuckers. Your best bet would be to install them in a guitar and see how they sound to you.
