  • swapping hardware

Bought a RR1T in ALL black.Seems like the easiest thing to do is buy a RR5,switch hardware and resell it.May be more appealing to the new owner.I was able to contact DAVE here on the forum. He can only help me with the v-plate and the control plate. The hardest change seems to be to locate a gold jackplate.Any suggestions? I know this seems extreme but what are my options?

The jack is just a standard Fender Strat style jack, not very hard to find. Here is a place that has them.

Well, yeah, but the face where the jack is fastened on a RR/KV isn't plane at all, as they are on a Stratocaster.

Ok, you've lost me too...you want new hardware for the RR1T, so you are going to buy and RR5 and swap the hardware??? The hardware should be much cheaper than the guitar..just sayin

swap the hardware than resell the RR5.It seems incredibly difficult to track down all the parts.Any leads appreciated.I have spoken to Lee Garver and Dave and searched google for replacement parts.

Shoot that dude an e-mail. He has all the other parts so I'd bet he has, or could get you the jack also.

I don't think this is as easy as you might expect. For instance...

IIRC, the TOM bridge on an RR5 is not the same as used on the USAs. The USAs use Gotohs, though, so should be pretty easy to find at Stew Mac, All Parts, etc.

In the first post he just says "Dave". I didn't know that he meant that guy.

Yeah it is. Same exact plate. Easy to find, easy to install.
