Looking to Replace the Stock 12AX7 Tubes (getting old) and was wondering if there is something better out there that would give me a "LOT" More Gain in Distortion..

    Thanks, Karl

I put groove tubes in mine and they worked great.

Try a Sovtek 12AX7LPS. It is a great high gain tube.

hey i used GrooveTubes 7025s in a rack mount v-twin, more gain than the mesa 12AX7, but they sounded a little too bright to me. I liked it alot in the clean side sounded much more like an overdriven fender. i was running it thru a SS power amp or a marshall practice amp set CLEAN.

BTW i think i still have those GT 7025s if you want them, i may have given them to the guy that bought it tho.
