  • Floyd rose

There is this Kramer Guitar that has a floyd rose on it.. the total for the body/pickups/floyd is 80 bucks.

Are all floyd roses pretty much the same in size?

is there such thing as a really crappy floyd rose that gets out of tune a lot?

You wouldn't believe the number of crappy Floyd copies out there. I had a plywood Kramer back in the early nineties, with a licenced Floyd that wouldn't stay in tune no matter what I did to it. The trem bar would always come loose and the finetuners had a sloppy feel in them. As a rule of thumb, an original Floyd is always better.

$80 for the whole kit? Used or new? If new, it's definately a plywood body with junk pickups and a useless Floyd copy.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">if it says Floyd Rose on the baseplate...if it has the words licensed on it anywhere avoid it. Also make sure it isnt one of the cheap Floyd Roses that are single locking.
