Picked an import (china, I think) up a couple years ago for $400 + shipping.

Nice import at least on the early models, they checked each model out in the "shed" out in the west coast. ( I just said shed, I have no idea they may have a real shop). Signed my Minarik inside the back plate as one of the early first year imports (maybe he's still doing it , I don't know).

Pics at photobucket, gave it to my son last christmas. Real SD pickups and seems like quality parts all around.

I'm currently debating one of the newer Lotus models, the Ocean burst color. They can be had for a bit under $300 on the Bay new right now sometimes.....I'm just worried the buid quality may have dropped from the first year.

If you like something different in looks, with decent build you can get the Minariks for a good price ( Under $500) sometimes.
