correct strings to use?

Read the post about what strings to buy. noticed someone ask what tuning he uses. Got me thinking about mine.
DK-1 with a floyd. Ive been using D'Addario 9's for as long as i can remember bassed only on the fact my teacher told me to. i tuned my guitar down half a step to match some slayer tone and really like the sound. is there a better string to use for that purpose? ive adjusted my springs on my floyd and the DA seem to work fine. wasnt aware of strings meant for drop tunings, if there is. thanks

For tuning a half-step down, you should be fine. For lower tunings than that, it becomes necessary to use heavier strings. I won't say they are "better" (just personal taste), but I like to use 9-46 strings because the wound strings are a little less sloppy than 9-42 if I tune down to Eb or drop D, especially on a short - scale guitar.
